What is this

I think this is a poem
But I don't know

The thing about poetry is,
I don't get it

I want to write it,
But I don't know the rules

I can't tell you the difference between a haiku and a limerick,
And I don't know what a stanza is

It speaks to me on many levels,
But I fail to understand its depths

I do love poetry,
But mostly the childish kind

Poems with simple refrains,
And easy rhymes
